SEX PISTOLS’ STEVE JONES
TO HOST A DAILY RADIO SHOW
ON INDIE 103.1FM
(LOS
ANGELES) – February 3, 2004 – Program Director for
Entravision’s
“Indie 103.1 FM” (indie1031.fm), Michael Steele, announced
that
the guitarist, writer and one of the founding members of “Sex Pistols,”
Steve
Jones,
will host a LIVE SHOW on the station. Los Angeles and Orange County
should
brace for Radio’s most irreverent moment, as the show called “Jonesy’s
Juke
Box” hits the air every Tuesday through Friday from Noon to 1PM.
Steve will play
and say whatever HE wants - AND he’ll be joined in studio by his famous
friends
to divulge the “Filth and Fury” behind the world of Punk Rock.
Steve will play
cuts from his own private collection; everything from the 45’s he bought
as a kid,
to the cool new stuff that gets him excited today.
“You
have never heard a show like this,” states Steele. “It’s Anarchy in
LA. Steve Jones basically INVENTED
Punk Rock, and now he’s gonna be a DJ on
Indie – - - Somebody pinch me! I am such a fan and I can’t wait for our listeners
to get an insiders view point on the REAL world of Rock, and hear MORE
music
that NO ONE plays on the air anywhere. ‘Jonesy’s Juke Box’ may not be pretty
but it will definitely be compelling radio!”
Indie
103.1 Music Director, Mark Sovel, said
“Let’s face it: When
a Punk
Rock legend wants to play his records on your station, you let him.”
Jones
said about his new radio gig…”For once somebody’s gonnaplay
good music on the radio - - me.”
